How I Make My Typography Videos

Here is a short video that shows how I go about creating my typography videos. It is uploaded on my second channel jlynnvideos. Let me know what you would like to see in my next video.

Getting Started

As you all may know by now I make my typography videos with Photoshop and Movie Maker. So, these are the main things you will need. If you are unable to get Photoshop I'm sure you would be able to use Gimp, which is another type of photo editing software, but just know that all the directions I will be giving will be for Photoshop. As for Movie Maker you will want to get the Windows Vista version- Windows Movie Maker 6- and not the new Windows Live Movie Maker. The older version of Movie Maker is much better and easier to use, especially for these videos.

Before you begin making your videos you should know that they can take a long time to finish; especially when you're just getting started. This process is basically like stop motion- frame by frame photographs that give the illusion of motion. In all, you'll need to have a lot of patience when doing this. Here is a video to help you understand this more. Be sure to pay attention to the photos in the timeline at the bottom. This will help you get an idea of how many photos these videos require.
